Q: My spouse and I want to get a divorce, but what do we do with our house in Texas?

A: In light of today's economic recession, we get this question asked more often than any other question.  In early 2000, selling your home wasn't a difficult issue. Often couples could almost count on making money on the sale of their homes, so the parties simply had to split the equity of the house and buy two new homes. It was a clean and easy solution. However, this is not the case today. The more likely scenario today is couples don't have any equity in their home due to a drop in home values or one or both parties cannot qualify to secure a new home or refinance the one they are currently living in.  There is no simple solution to this problem, but our attorneys can help find the best solution for you in the current economic climate.
